I can’t believe I’ve written 100 posts!
This one finds me in Glasgow again. Husband and I had to go down for the day, and we decided to go in past Mono again.
Last time we had the seitan burger (Husband) and the pepperoni and cheese pizza (Me). We enjoyed the meal, but were not really that keen on the mock meat. It’s not something we normally eat, and while I enjoyed the texture of mine, I wasn’t really excited about the food.
This time we both had soup and a sandwich. And I was really excited about those! We both had broccoli soup, that was so rich and creamy I had a “Oh, this place is totally vegan, right?” moment. I have not had soup like that for a long time, and it was delicious! (so much so that I finished off Husband’s as well, even though I was incredibly full!) I had a falafel salad wrap, which was crunchy and tasty and had a kind of creamy sauce which, again, I haven’t had in a long time.
Husband had the refried bean burrito, which seemed to be essentially bean chilli and rice wrapped in bread. It was delicious, but incredibly filling, so if you’re planning to eat this, bring a big appetite.
For drinks we had Raspberry and Rose Lemonade (Husband) which was very refreshing, and Home Brewed Ginger Beer (Me) which was very gingery (still love ginger).
I’ll be back in Glasgow in December to see Hanson (and am ridiculously excited about it) and I’m planning to go back to Mono, taking a huge appetite with me.
